Professional Lessons

Riders of all skill levels develop and strengthen their skills in the areas of awareness, focus, leadership, teamwork, confidence,  friendships and fun along with superb hunter equitation skills and abilities. Riders learn “how to learn” and how to apply that to their lives in all areas. Our trainers enjoy teaching all aspects of riding and horsemanship with a primary focus on the principles of Hunters, Equitation, and Jumpers. Beginners through advanced students ride for both fun, competition and the love of the horse. Our program is a great way to make friends and embrace teamwork! With over 20 school horses and ponies, we have amazing animals for all abilities and personalities. The minimum age is 6 years old.

We are currently on a waitlist! Please contact us for more information and/or to be put on the list.

Interscholastic Equestrian Association

Chastain Horse Park supports the Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) by hosting middle school and high school teams. We compete in five shows a year between September and March. Entry-level show classes include walk, trot and canter. Intermediate classes involve jumping cross-rail courses, and advanced classes include jump courses up to 2’6”. Our IEA riders must participate in every other week lessons to prepare for shows.

IEA’s mission is to introduce students in private and public middle and high schools to equestrian competition sports. Through the IEA, students may also have the opportunity to earn scholarships toward their college educations. IEA is a great way to experience horse showing without necessarily owning your own horse.

The IEA Team is currently full for the 2023-24 year
